A megalith dating back some 5,000 years, the Penglaouic menhir is partially submerged when the tide rises, and has evolved over the centuries.
Originally, it was erected on dry land two kilometres from the coast. It marked the source of a small stream. For many years now, it has had its "feet in the water", which is the intangible result of the gradual rise in water levels.
Beyond this megalith lies the territory of Pont-l'Abbé.
