Pont-l'Abbé has 5 chapels, 2 of which can be visited.
The Sacré-Coeur chapel, opposite the Eglise des Carmes, is very charming and rather original.
The history of the Sacré-Coeur chapel in Pont-l'Abbé began in 1882 with Hyacinthe Le Blaize. Opposite Notre-Dame-des-Carmes church, next to the school, the entrepreneur decided to build this small edifice. On his death, his daughter Valentine took it over before selling it to the bishopric of Pont-l'Abbé in 1925.
It is an elongated building with a single nave. The square bell tower is topped by a square openwork spire decorated with crossettes. Shallow chancel with canted chevet. Roughcast granite rubble with the exception of the ashlar window surrounds and corner quoins. False ribbed vault, painted in the choir. Granite flagstone floor.

For thirty years, the little chapel of the Sacred Heart was abandoned.
In a poor state of repair, it was the volunteers of the association Les Ouvriers du Sacré-Cœur who restored it thanks to donations. They open the chapel to visitors and offer on-site exhibitions during the summer season.
