Penmarc'h has 4 chapels.
The superb Chapelle de la Joie, located as close as possible to the sea, is a must-see on the GR® 34 between Saint-Pierre and Saint-Guénolé.
According to Fréminville, this chapel was built on the site of a pagan temple. It is a rectangular building with a long, narrow lean-to to the north, connected to the main nave by two doors. The façade is topped by a bell tower flanked by two stair towers. The altarpiece, by Jean Le Bosser, dates from 1756 (commissioned from Jean Le Bosser on 15 February 1756). The chapel houses statues of Saint Méen, Saint Côme and Saint Damien, the Virgin (18th century), two adoring angels and a Crucifix. During the storms of 4, 5 and 6 December 1896, the dyke wall was destroyed.
