Route de Poulguen, 29760 Penmarch
Penmarc'h has 4 chapels.
The chapel dedicated to Saint Mark is a little jewel nestling on the heights of Poulguen at the end of a small valley near the Keradennec farm; flanked by a fountain, it probably dates from the 17th century.
Too small to accommodate a congregation, the altar was set up in the shelter of an old fig tree further down the valley. The procession and its banners descend from the chapel in a landscape that invites contemplation. Along the way, rocks carved with cylindrical cavities bear witness to the faith of our ancestors. From these they extracted the monolithic cross supports that still line the roads of Cap-Caval.
