The Kérity-Penmarc'h harbour guardhouse is the current harbour office, but also houses associations such as "les Marins et amis du port de Kérity" and "la Voile associative penmarchaise".
The original purpose of the guardhouse was military: it was used to house the soldiers responsible for guarding a particular point or stretch of coastline during the reign of Louis XIV. It was a living quarters for these soldiers, with a stone slab roof and a few openings that allowed them to keep an eye on the surrounding area. It housed a customs officer until 1963.
