Église Saint-Tudy

A typically Breton granite church with 15th-century architecture. Built between 1783 and 1877, it is a must-see. The large porch, known as the "baptismal porch", with its pointed arch, voussures and flattened tori, makes it a unique site. Inside the church, you will find pillars, a stoup and a 15th-century coffin. The altar is made of granite. In the choir, you can admire the 16th-century Notre Dame de la Clarté, the statue of Saint Tudy (west gable) and the 17th-century Christ on the Cross. The artist Anna Coatalen, daughter of the Reverend Arthur James Hook, from Somerset in Great Britain, created three stained-glass windows inspired by and for the church of Ile-Tudy, in close collaboration with the master stained-glass artist Antoine Le Bihan. Anna and her husband Hervé had been visiting the church since 1948.
