The parish of Saint-Pierre de Kérity was created by episcopal order on 8 March 1949 and the church of Kérity, dedicated to Sainte Thumette, became its parish church.
The church, which dates back to the 16th century, was originally a chapel in Penmarc'h, but suffered greatly from the decline of Tréoultré, and was finally ruined in the 19th century. Its ruins were listed as a historic monument on 7 February 1916. The church was restored in 1950 under the authority of the Monuments Historiques, and blessed on 3 June 1951. In 2015 and 2016, the building was again restored.
Contemporary with the church of Saint-Nonna in Penmarc'h, it is built in the flamboyant Gothic style, with a five-bay nave, a north aisle and a flat chevet, which was fashionable at the time.
