The Fort was built in 1862 under Napoleon III.
This coastal defence structure could accommodate men, horses and cannons. It was not in use for very long and was bought by the commune in 1990.

The Fort can be hired out from September to June.
From June to September, it welcomes contemporary artists who offer exhibitions of paintings, sculptures, photographs and installations. Information at l'Abri du Marin.
Le Fort was built in 1862 under Napoléon III.
