Saint-Jean-Trolimon will be taking part in the Reading Nights for the first time. A national event organised by the Ministry of Culture and the CNL (Centre national du livre), the theme of the 2026 edition will be "Towns and Countryside".
Alongside the Histoire d'écrire association and the Point livres in Saint-Jean-Trolimon, the local authority has put together a rich programme in line with this theme.
- 6.30pm-7.15pm: a reading for children of an album from the "Fiasco" collection, or the adventures of a runaway cat, by author Martine Queffélec,
- 6.30-7.30pm: "Soupe de mots" writing workshop,
- From 7.15pm: hot soup and cakes,
- 8-10pm: testimonials from neo-rurals and staged readings, accompanied by music, evoking the journey from the towns to the countryside and then to the coast. The final part of the evening will take you on a sensitive journey through the landscapes of the Bigouden region, with readings of portraits of Bigouden people by writer Michel Suzzarini.
Ongoing during the evening: photographic exhibition by Patrice Touzeau on the birds of the Bigouden shores, exhibition of sculpted books, sale and signing of works by Histoire d'écrire authors and second-hand children's books.
Participants in the "Soupe de mots" writing workshop will have the chance to win Chèque Lire vouchers donated by the CNL - Centre national du livre! To be spent in local bookshops!
Free admission - Soup provided by the Town Hall - Cakes and sweets to share for dessert are welcome.
Organised by Saint-Jean-Trolimon Town Hall, in partnership with the local bookshop and the writers from the association Histoire d'écrire.
