Sainte-Thumette church was built in the 13th, 15th and 16th centuries in the flamboyant Gothic style. The Tunvezh association (Thumette in Breton) is helping to safeguard and enhance the building. In 2017, it was awarded the Mécénat populaire prize at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris. Sainte Thumette church has been listed as a Monument Historique since 1916.
The parish of Saint-Pierre de Kérity was created by episcopal order on 8 March 1949, and the church of Kérity, dedicated to Sainte Thumette, became its parish church. The church was originally a chapel and eventually fell into ruin in the 19th century. Its ruins were listed as a Historic Monument on 7 February 1916.
The church was restored in 1950 under the authority of the Monuments Historiques, and was blessed on 3 June 1951. In 2015 and 2016, the building was again restored.
