Plage de la Grève blanche

  • Unsupervised beach
Rue Jules Guesde, 29730 Guilvinec
Le Guilvinec has 920m of beaches, all ideally exposed with beautiful white sand. They are not supervised.

Plage de la Grève blanche, 800m from the port, is the largest beach in Le Guilvinec. It is an extension of the Steir de Penmarc'h beach. Here you can enjoy swimming and water sports in a family atmosphere. It faces due west and faces the Pointe de Penmarc'h and the Eckmühl lighthouse.
In season, a water sports centre offers activities such as catamaran sailing, kayaking and windsurfing. Showers are also available in July and August at the entrance on the Rue Jules Guesde side. At low tide, you can enjoy fishing on foot. The play area on the dunes is popular all year round. From the decking, take the GR34 towards Kérity.
Toilets are available at the end of the car park.
Nearest bus stop: Kerléguer (250m)

Another way to enjoy the beaches and dunes is to walk along the dunes along the GR34, the legendary customs path. Running is also very popular.
Cycling is prohibited on the wooden decking that runs alongside the Grève blanche beach.

Recommendations:
- The dunes and maritime vegetation are very fragile! Help preserve them by using only the paths provided for the walk. Please do not cross the ganivelles.
- For your safety, the footpaths are for pedestrians only. There are cycle routes for cyclists.
- No, the beaches are not dirty! Seaweed is not waste, but the natural waste product of a living ocean. It's a rich environment that encourages biodiversity.
- Yes, even in Brittany the sun can cause you a few problems! Protect your skin with sunscreen, avoid exposure between 12pm and 3pm and wear sunglasses!
- You can't go fishing on foot without taking a few precautions! Watch out for the tide, which can take you by surprise, even if you're a regular! To make sure you have a great time, be sure to check the tide times and don't leave without your mobile phone! If possible, let someone on land know about your getaway. Also, ask at the tourist office about catch sizes and any temporary bans. The fruit of your catch must remain alive until cooked/tasted.

Dogs welcome
Following a prefectoral decree, dogs are prohibited on the beach from 1 June to 30 September to protect wild fauna and for health reasons.
Outside this period, dogs must always be kept on a lead.
