On holiday, I've forgotten my car!

With a basket in your arm, a rucksack slung over your shoulder, in flip-flops, sandals or on two wheels, let’s take a stroll along the paths leading to the town and the beach, and discover some surprises that are invisible to the bus drivers.

For walkers, there’s first and foremost the magnificent GR® 34, which traces the contours of the Breton coastline and thus the Bigouden coastline. But if you want to get around on a daily basis, there are countless footpaths criss-crossing the region. The country lanes and roads are also great for walking.

For cycling enthusiasts, cycle route 45, also known as “La littorale”, crosses the Pays Bigouden from north to south, almost always following the sea. There are also greenways, such as the one linking Pont-l’Abbé to Pluguffan and between Plozévet and Pouldreuzic. In addition, cycling and mountain biking routes are detailed on the Pays Bigouden Sud cycling map.

There are hundreds of good reasons to do without the car. It’s a good way to project yourself into a different time frame, you don’t go as far, admittedly, but you stay longer, and, finally, you take your time. Now that’s a holiday!
