Nature events with a guide

Can you make a boat, a musical instrument or a work of art from natural materials? Can you recognise the colours of a European bee-eater? Do you know where our migratory birds come from and why they stop here? And why is this string of pebbles so precious? Don’t panic, our nature guides are here to answer all your questions!

Rendezvous with nature

Whether in Armor (the coastline) or Argoat ( inland), the different environments of Pays Bigouden offer a variety of nature outings. These focus on local biodiversity and natural and cultural heritage.

Choose from various themes:

By the sea, the focus is on the foreshore and what the ocean uncovers at low tide. There’s also the dune, an ecosystem rich in life. Outings are also planned to discover the region’s heritage and history, such as this guided tour of the pebble-crusher at Tréguennec, a relic of the Second World War. Standing stones can also be seen throughout our countryside, and discovering them with a guide is even better!

If you’re a wildlife enthusiast, you can go birdwatching and learn more about migratory routes. A bat evening will teach you about nature’s ‘black web’, an ecological network conducive to nocturnal life.

During some of the activities, you can use your imagination and creative talents…

Three nature guides share their knowledge

Three nature enthusiasts work in Pays Bigouden  to help all kinds of people discover the living world and the exceptional heritage that surrounds us.

  • Steven and Sterenn will guide you around the southern Bigouden region. They can describe the songs of the birds and love to fill their visits with tales, legends and other fascinating stories.
  • Valérie is the nature specialist for the council of Haut Pays Bigouden. She is trained in archaeology, which gives her the authority to comment on the menhirs, dolmen and other megaliths in the area.

If you’d like to spend some quality time with them, don’t hesitate to book aguidedwalk or a nature workshop.
