Loctudy fishing port

The port of Loctudy is famous for its  langoustines, nicknamed the ‘Demoiselles de Loctudy’ (the little ladies of Loctudy).

An active port

The port is located at the mouth of the Pont-l’Abbé river estuary, facing Île-Tudy.

You can buy freshly caught fish or langoustine from 4.30pm in one of the fishmongers in the port.

An auction for professional fishermen takes place in the morning at 6am from Monday to Friday.

The main species landed at the auction is the langoustine, otherwise known as the Demoiselle de Loctudy.

Museum of Le Gall canning factory

This is both a museum and a collector of memories, dedicated to the history of the workers and the great families who owned the canning factories in southern Brittany.

The Conserverie Alexis Le Gall is the last witness to an extraordinary Breton story: the adventure of canned fish, an industry that began in the 1800s and is still alive and well in Pays Bigouden. This place will tell you all about an industrial and human saga, to the rhythm of the daily catch and the factory bell!
