Description
Have you heard of ‘picot bigouden’? This technique for creating freehand lace using a crochet hook is a traditional craft that developed in the early 20th century in the Bigouden region and is now listed on Brittany’s inventory of intangible cultural heritage.
As we at the Canning Museum are committed to preserving and passing on the region’s heritage and local traditions, we wanted to offer visitors the chance to meet and create alongside volunteers from the Dames Picots de Loctudy association. Come and practise creating picot patterns alongside them.
Creative workshop on Bigouden picot, open to anyone aged 10 and over who is familiar with crochet.
