Description
Layers of worship, rituals and devotions: today’s beliefs and traditions have come down to us from time immemorial. Magical and healing stones, miraculous fountains, wishing trees and Troménies… are all living testimonies to this. Places of ritual, still visited today by many people hoping for healing or for a wish to be granted, they are also part of Brittany’s heritage.
After a brief history lesson, from the first inhabitants to the arrival of the Bretons in Armorica, the exhibition takes visitors on a journey through the Christianisation of pagan traditions and rites and, above all, what remains of them today; through various themes: stones, death, fire, trees, sacred waters, Celtic festivals, rites of passage...
Hélène Barazer is the creator of the exhibition.
