Les Tréteaux du Phare, a community theatre festival in Penmarc’h. *Bunker Kyiv*: by Stefano Massini, directed by Luc Stibon In Kyiv, there are 4,984 bunkers. Each bunker can hold 30 bodies. Fear permeates the air. Those inside the bunker become beasts. In these places, different rules and different boundaries prevail. Inside the bunker, time stands still; people wait and hope to emerge alive. ‘All certainties evaporate, disappear’. We do not know how long this might last. The worst thing would be to die whilst thinking one is still alive. Stefano Massini explores a near-death experience within a bunker. It shatters our perception of the world, of time, of space and of others. He questions the solidity of the boundaries that separate the individual from the world around them. This text in free verse, based on accounts reported in newspapers and on social media, allows us to see the war in Ukraine from a human perspective. Duration: 1 hour
