Journées du patrimoine - visite de l'usine de potabilisation de Bringall

  • Cultural
Usine de potabilisation de Bringall, Rue Pen Enez, 29120 Pont-l'Abbé

Description

To mark Heritage Days, the Communauté de communes du Pays bigouden Sud (CCPBS) and Saur are opening the doors of the Bringall water treatment plant, located in Pont-l’Abbé. This initiative will give local residents the chance to take a behind-the-scenes look at drinking water production in the area. The guided tour will trace the entire treatment cycle, from water intake from the Pont-l’Abbé river and the Moulin Neuf dam reservoir, right through to distribution to homes. This event takes on particular significance against the backdrop of the drought that has been affecting the region since spring 2026. Beyond the technical workings of the facilities, visitors will be made aware of the major challenges involved in the sustainable management of this resource. The local authority will take this opportunity to present its day-to-day efforts to protect aquatic environments, the monitoring of 800 km of pipework to prevent leaks, and the treatment of wastewater at its seven treatment works. Places are limited; registration is compulsory by telephone.
