Description

As the Manoir de Kerhoas served as the setting for several scenes in Claude Chabrol’s film, adapted from the book by Per Jakez Hélias, the PAMK association (Patrimoine Animation Manoir de Kerhoas) is organising a special event on the theme: “In the days of the ‘Horse of Pride’”. On the programme: - An exhibition of display panels in the cider house, in partnership with Pouldreuzic Town Hall and the Museum and Birthplace of Pierre-Jakez Hélias. - Activities evoking the era: Bigouden picot craft, lace-making, ‘Indian’ cotton fabrics, a stall by the Diwan schools, and Bigouden costumes on loan from the Fête Bretonne de Loctudy association. Hervé Guirriec, author and representative of Locus Solus, will present a selection of books. A painting by Youen Durand and a magnificent sculpture of seaweed gatherers by Guy Pavec will be on display, and Scarlette, a well-known figure in the Bigouden region, will give two short talks on the life of seaweed gatherers. - In the manor house, several artists will exhibit their paintings and sculptures on this theme. - Light refreshments: crêpes, drinks. - On Saturday evening: a Breton dinner (booking required) with a menu inspired by Bigouden wedding feasts, accompanied by interludes of traditional music, bagpipes and sonieren. Free admission. Organised by the PAMK association.
