Tréméoc

This Greenway – or ‘voie verte’ – is a hiking trail on a former railway line. The last train came through here on 20th June 1963.

Running from Pluguffan to Pont-l’Abbé via Tréméoc, it is 12 km long. Its stabilised surface makes it ideal for running, walking and cycling.

Its shady route, popular in hot weather, will take you all the way to Pont-l’Abbé and its river.

This 16th-century chapel nestled in the countryside is dedicated to Saint Sebastian, a saint who healed wounds caused by injuries. A fragment of 16th-century stained glass can be seen in the chevet window.

The rectangular building opens to the west through a basket-handle door. The buttresses surmounted by pinnacles and escutcheons form part of the fenestration mullions. The chapel also has a calvary and a pietà carved in stone. The calvary dates from the 16th century and is carved in granite.

This church dates from the 17^th century, but has retained four pillars from the previous building produced by the Pont-Croix school, formed by eight tangent columns dating from the end of the 14^th century, with their fluted semicircular arches resting on capitals decorated with foliage.

The nave arcades are round-headed. Some of the polychrome sablières have survived. The bell tower with its short spire has been rebuilt.
