Description
Armel An Héjer began playing Breton music on the great bagpipes. He expanded his repertoire to include Scottish and Irish music. Armel also began singing in Breton, and his career really took off whilst working with Louise Ebrel. Subsequently, he became increasingly drawn to Eastern music, which led him to work with various instrumentalists. This journey has made Armel a unique figure on the contemporary Breton music scene.
A passionate accompanist, guitarist Roland Conq has played alongside numerous Scottish and Irish musicians. A regular feature of Breton night-time gatherings since the early 1990s, he also composes. Exploring Irish, Scottish, Breton and, later, Eastern repertoires, Roland Conq’s ensembles demonstrate a wide-ranging style and a natural ease in fusing traditional music.
