Description
Marie-Luce Queinnec creates sculptures in terracotta.
She discovered working with clay in a studio with an artist trainer several years ago.
Giving it shape requires method and rigour, and while the demands of this art of earth and fire can curb inspiration, there's something magical about the transformation of the material...
She particularly enjoys sculpting the face, which she believes to be the most expressive part of the human being, sometimes playing on the contrasts between a clay left raw and a patinated or enamelled decoration.
