Ideal for families

In the heart of PaysBigouden, Plonéour-Lanvern is the ideal place to set down your bags and visit the sights of South Finistère: the fine sandy beaches of Tréguennec and the town of Pont-l’Abbé are just 10 minutes away, and the fishing ports of Guilvinec and Penmarc’h are also a short drive away.

Local points of interest include the Moulin Neuf lake, which invites you to take a leisurely stroll, and the local shops, which offer everything you need for your stay.

The park and Halle Raphalen have a few surprises in store: entertainment, gatherings, concerts and outdoor games for children and teenagers.

The 65-hectare Moulin Neuf reservoir straddles the communes of Tréméoc and Plonéour-Lanvern and supplies drinking water to the communes around Pont-l’Abbé.

The Moulin Neuf lake is easy to walk around. The footpath around the lake offers a shady 7-kilometre walk, during which you can enjoy birdwatching and observe the local flora. Away from traffic, it’s an ideal route for walking your dog, for example.

Classed as a second-category lake, it is very popular with anglers (you must have a fishing licence).

Follow the trail of the Carrot Train: a 6-kilometre trail along an old railway line that traces the history of the goods train that used to run through Pays Bigouden.

Introduced in 1912, this line with its many stops mainly transported vegetables, but was also used to carry passengers. Its existence had a considerable impact on the economy of the Bigouden region in the early 1900s.

The walk alternates between woodland paths, field tracks and a few stretches of tarmac road.

Chapel of Saint-Philibert

Saint-Philibert Chapel was built in the 11th century by monks from Landévennec Abbey. During the Bonnets rouges revolt in 1675, its bell tower was beheaded. The chapel has been listed as a Historic Monument since 1926.

The chapel is open to the public.

Church of Saint-Énéour

The church in its current state dates back to 1848 and takes its name from the monk Éneour, who came from across the Channel in the 5th century. Saint-Énéour church was consecrated by Mgr Graveran, Bishop of Quimper and Léon, on 2 January 1848.

Open to the public every day from 10am to 6pm.

Crêpe festival and other events

In Plonéour-Lanvern, the Crêpe Festival is an institution. Every August, the local events committee organises this friendly gathering at the Halle Raphalen. Come and enjoy a programme of Bigouden culture in good spirits!

Other associations have their own highlights, starting with the Shaker association, which organises a number of events throughout the year, all with a quirky twist. The Shaker Fest (next to be held in 2026) is one of their main events, a retro-neo-burlesque festival that takes you back in time to the years of Prohibition. Other unusual events including electro picnics and Électrolympiades will surprise you.
