Our commitments

Our Tourist Office is committed to an approach recognised by the Qualité Tourisme™ mark.

This national distinction demonstrates our commitment to offering a warm welcome, reliable information, personalised services and an ever more pleasant experience to our public.

Our quality commitments

In order to offer our visitors the best possible quality of service and information, Destination Pays Bigouden has joined a national quality initiative Destination D’Excellence, specific to the Offices de Tourisme de France network.

To achieve this, our establishments and teams are committed to the following points:

  • Cultivate a love of Pays Bigouden and share it at every encounter
  • To be, become and remain experts in our field
  • To work with a smile and good humour
  • To offer in-depth, real-life knowledge of our region, which includes trying out new experiences to give you better advice
  • Staying closely connected to local businesses and residents to share the best of Pays Bigouden with you
  • Guarantee you a warm welcome and tailored advice

Have you been to one of our offices? Feel free to leave us a review to help us improve the quality of our welcome, on Google and on Tripadvisor.

Our actions for sustainable development

Pays Bigouden is a popular destination that appeals for the beauty of its unspoilt landscapes, its fishing ports, its rich heritage and its strong cultural identity. Our tourism strategy focuses on preserving these assets while protecting the environment.

To achieve this, Destination Pays Bigouden is striving to :

  • Favour soft mobility (we have the Accueil vélo label)
  • Promote the preservation of the coastline, dunes and biodiversity (Natura 2000 and Ramsar zones)
  • Promote the local economy, in particular localproducts and know-how (map of local producers, Bigoudène Box, etc.)
  • Invite visitors to fill up their water bottles (we have signed up to #Gourdefriendly)
  • Not sending documentation by post, but instead creating a personalised digital travel diary with up-to-date information, reducing our impact on the environment
  • Reduce the number of printed documents, by inviting people to download brochures from our website, and by opting to announce events, ticket sales and the weather on screens in our reception desks rather than on posters.
  • Recycle our surplus paper through the local association AFIDESA (Plomeur), which works in education in Burkina Faso
  • Producing an autumn-winter magazine and a 100% digital accommodation magazine
  • Go paperless for our meeting minutes, schedules, liaison notebooks and a maximum number of internal operating documents
  • Favouring the use of a wired network connection rather than Wi-Fi whenever possible.
  • Commit to a CSR approach (through the Destination d’Excellence label)
  • Disseminate the Traveller’s Charter (video produced for all players in Brittany)
  • Carry out daily eco-actions: waste sorting, water and energy consumption, conscious and sensible digital practices and printing. Staff are regularly made aware of these issues.
  • Favour car-pooling for business trips.
  • Take part in various green initiatives: for example, cleaning up digital data every year during Clean-Up Day in France (with staff awareness-raising on the impact of digital technology).

Network Sensation Bretagne

The Tourist Office is a member of the Sensation Bretagne network through the commune of Le Guilvinec.

Sensation Bretagne is a network of 30 tourist resorts along Brittany’s coastline, whose aim is to pool resources and skills in order to promote sustainable tourism on the Breton coast.

Networking encourages the exchange of experience between professionals and fosters the emergence of innovative ideas.

Professionals and elected representatives from the tourism sector are actively involved in drawing up the development strategy for the 30 Sensation Bretagne resorts.

Cyclists welcome!

Our commitments to accessibility

The Tourist Office is committed to accessibility.

Two of our tourist information offices, in Le Guilvinec and Plozévet, are currently in the process of being awarded the ‘Tourism & Handicap’ label, demonstrating our commitment to providing a welcome accessible to everyone.

Reception staff have been trained to welcome people with one or more disabilities.

The Tourist Office has appointed a Disability Officer.

We are actively improving the accessibility of our publications and website.
