5 good reasons to come in spring

Spring is the perfect time to enjoy the mild, calm climate of the Bigouden region, and the temperatures are ideal for outdoor activities.

Here are 5 good reasons to come to Pays Bigouden in spring, although there are many more!

For a whole host of activities

The ocean is starting to warm up, and it’s impossible to resist taking the first dips of the year.

The water sports centres are reopening their doors to the public and offering equipment hire: stand-up paddleboards or kayaks to head out on the water, catamaran and optimist dinghies to enjoy the breeze, and the list goes on.

For nature in all its glory

Nature is wonderful at this time of year, and Pays Bigouden is an ideal spot in which to enjoy the brand new sunshine!

You’ll be enchanted by the variety of flowers that line the paths of Cornouaille Botanical Park in Combrit, filling the air with their delicious fragrance.

You can also take to the short and medium-length footpaths to fill up on colours and smells, either along the coast on the GR® 34 coastal path or through the Bigouden countryside for a rural feel.

For the mild climate

Our coastal region benefits from an oceanic climate that makes for particularly mild temperatures.

Thanks to the Gulf Stream, the sea stays relatively warm in winter, but quickly warms up as soon as the fine weather arrives.

And above all, you can be filled with light here! The sun sets in the west and saves its last rays for Finistère, meaning that the day finishes later here than anywhere else in France.

For more space than in summer

You’ll be the first privileged visitors of the season to discover cultural venues that attract many visitors and to visit the new exhibitions of the year.

Outside the high season, you’ll be able to enjoy them almost on your own, as if you have exclusive, VIP access!

For replenishing rest and re-energise

Our destination is particularly attractive to lovers of nature and wide open spaces. Here, you’ll find peace and quiet within yourself, helped by a wild, unspoilt environment.

You’ll leave re-energised with your batteries recharged, thanks to long walks outside or outdoor activities.
