From Le Petit Futé Restaurant Guide : A canteen like this would be my choice any day ! Impossible not to notice the bright red boat store on the harbour side near the GR34 coastal footpath ! The tables, which are decorated with maritime maps, are on a raised platform so you can see the sea. Or you may prefer to sit at the bar and gaze at the sea through the window. It would be hard to find fresher fish. The menu and prices change depending on fish landings. The chef, Didier Guillou, gets everything right ! Scallops marinated with Lesconil seaweed tartare, monkfish with bacon and cider, pan-fried langoustines (or scallops in season) flambéed in Cognac. The meat is equally excellent : home-made foie gras, Entrecote steak with Roquefort or mustard sauce, pork cheeks in cider with honey and ginger. There’s nothing pretentious about the food here, it’s all extremely good and local, even down to the aperitifs and liqueurs !
