Her interest in painting began during her high school studies. After obtaining her baccalaureate with a specialization in drawing, she began a professional career at the Ministry of Culture.
In 1990, Marie-Lise Le Campion moved to the USA. She then began painting on her own. In 2001, her first solo exhibition was held, which was a great success. The artist decided to create her own painting studio in 2005.
She works in a variety of techniques: gouache, pastel, watercolor, acrylic, and oil. Today, she focuses on mixed media, deeply appreciating the rendering of the materials. Her reference artists are Turner, Monet, De Staël, Zao Wou-Ki, and Chu Teh-Chun.
Colorist Marie-Lise Le Campion offers canvases flooded with color. She enjoys playing with their harmonies, nuances, and contrasts to bring out the light, generating emotions. Her personal history, her feelings, and her environment are key sources of inspiration for the artist. In her creative process, she occasionally draws on a theme she chooses based on her moods.
